Seaplanes need water to depart from or arrive on and this sometimes makes locating the seaplane dock a bit tricky. The following show detailed instructions and maps to assist you in finding your destinations.
- Downtown Vancouver
Downtown Vancouver (VHFC at the convention center – float plane dock)
Directions: We arrive/depart from the “VHFC facility at the convention center”. By foot from Cordova and Thurlow. Take the foot path on the west side of the Shaw Tower directly down to the terminal.
Alternately, access via Harbour Green Park from Cordova and Bute. Proceed eastbound along the Seawall direct to the terminal. The Harbour Green Park route is recommended for guests with roller luggage as the Shaw Tower route has several stairs. Looking for the shuttle bus, click here.
- Vancouver Airport
Vancouver Airport (Richmond, South Terminal, Seaplane terminal at the Flying Beaver)
Address: 4760 Inglis Drive Richmond, BC V7B 1W4
Directions: Our terminal is located in Richmond on the Fraser River adjacent to the South Terminal of the Vancouver International Airport/YVR
When taking a cab: ask the driver to take you to “SaltSpring Air at the Flying Beaver, Seaplane base”.
Address: 4760 Inglis Drive, RichmondDirections: We arrive/depart from the “Harbour Air Terminal & Flying Beaver Pub” located at 4760 Inglis Drive, Richmond. This location is a 5-8 minute taxi ride from the Main Terminal at Vancouver International Airport.
Parking: Limited parking is available by request. Parking passes are required and are available at the Harbour Air Terminal Customer Service Counter. Shuttle Service: For those passengers travelling from the Harbour Air Terminal to the Main Terminal &/or South Terminal for connecting flights, a complimentary shuttle service is available.
- Salt Spring Island
Salt Spring Island (Ganges Harbour / float plane dock)
Address: 3102 Fulford Ganges Road
Directions: We arrive/depart from the “Ganges seaplane dock”, just below the Coast Guard Station. However, please check-in at our office, just a short walk from dock, at “Grace Point Square” – 3102 Fulford Ganges Road.
When taking a cab: ask the driver to take you to “Grace Point Square” – “Saltspring Air office”.
- Maple Bay (Vancouver Island)
Maple Bay (Maple Bay Marina – float plane dock)
Address: 6145 Genoa Bay Rd, Maple Bay Marina, Maple Bay
Directions: We arrive/depart from the “Maple Bay Marina Gas Bar”, just at the end of the docks. Maple Bay is located approximately 15 minutes from Duncan on Vancouver Island. Please note that the dock we arrive/depart from is NOT “Maple Bay Government Dock” or “Maple Bay Yacht Club”or “Birds Eye Cove Marina”. If you are new to this Marina, please check-in with the Saltspring Air pilot at the Gas Bar. Parking is available at lot B please call the Marina if you require long term stay for more information
When taking a cab: ask the driver to take you to “Maple Bay Marina” to the dock.
- N. Saanich (Victoria)
N. Saanich (Victoria - Sea plane dock)
Address: Widgeon Dr., North Saanich
Directions: We arrive/depart from the “Pat Bay Seaplane base”, just at the end of the Widgeon Dr. Pat Bay is located to the West side of C-YYJ Victoria international airport, approximately 8 minutes from Sidney on Vancouver Island. Please note that the dock we arrive/depart from is behind a locked gate, where your Saltspring Air pilot will meet you for check-in.
When taking a cab: ask the driver to take you to “Patricia Bay Seaplane base, Beside Ocean sciences”.
- Southern Gulf Islands
Southern Gulf Islands (Mayne, Pender, Galiano, Saturna and Thetis Islands)

- Scheduled Routes
Saltspring Air offers scheduled routes to and from Vancouver International Airport, Downtown Vancouver, Salt Spring Island, Maple Bay, and most Gulf Islands (Mayne Island, Pender Island, Galiano Island, Saturna Island, Thetis Island). We offer 3 direct flights a day between Salt Spring and Downtown Vancouver and the Vancouver International Airport.
