Confirmation and Baggage
We will call you to confirm your flight 24 hours before your scheduled departure time. If you are unreachable by telephone within the 24 hours before your scheduled flight, we ask that you phone our office to confirm your flight no later then 2 hours before your scheduled departure time.

Luggage allowance includes both checked and carry-on luggage.
- Between Vancouver/Ganges Harbour (Salt Spring Is.) and Maple Bay is 25lbs (11.5kg)
- Between South Vancouver (YVR)/ Ganges Harbour (Salt Spring Is.) and Maple Bay is 35lbs (16kg)
- Between Vancouver, Victoria, Nanaimo, Comox, Pitt Meadows, or Sechelt is 25lbs (11.5kg)
- Between South Vancouver (YVR)/Victoria or Nanaimo is 50lbs (23kg)
- Between South Vancouver (YVR)/Sechelt is 25lbs (11.5kg)
- Between Whistler/Vancouver or Victoria is 25lbs (11.5kg)
Bags cannot weight more than 50lbs each. Each piece of extra luggage putting the total baggage weight over 50lbs will be charged at $5.00 per additional bag. Specialty luggage (including sports equipment) will be subject to additional fees below, and will be sent on your flight if possible, or on the next available flight.

On our charter flights, there is more flexibility depending on the number of passengers and the aircraft.
How to Confirm Your Additional Luggage
If you want to guarantee all your baggage accompanies you on your flight, please purchase an additional seat on the aircraft. The extra seat will allow you to bring up to 200lbs of luggage.
If travelling between Vancouver/Ganges Harbour (Salt Spring Is.) and Maple Bay, you can request to take a maximum of 50lbs of luggage confirmed for a fee of $25.00 at the time of reservation.
If travelling between South Vancouver (YVR)/Ganges Harbour (Salt Spring Is.) and Maple Bay, you can request to take a maximum of 50lbs of luggage confirmed for a fee of $15.00 at the time of reservation.
Handling Fees for Baggage
If you want to send bags over early we will happily assist, as long as you have a flight booked that same day. The Additional Baggage Fees still apply and there is an additional Handling fee of $5.00 per bag.
Check-in: Please check-in 20 minutes prior to departure for all flights.
Changes and cancellations can be made at no charge up to 1 hour prior to departure time and must be made by calling Salt Spring Air toll free 1-877-537-9880 or local 537-9880. Customers who do not show up for their flight will forfeit the fare paid.
